What’s the On Deck Speaker Series?

It’s our way of highlighting different voices in our community, and celebrating diversity. During each On Deck interview, Cynthia Chan will have an in-depth discussion with a student about their artistic journey, and experiences at The Dirt.

Ali Hand (she/her) is a Toronto-based artist and disability advocate.

Ali studied American Sign Language and Deaf culture at George Brown College, Leadership in Accessibility and Inclusion at Toronto Metropolitan University, and Musical Theatre at Randolph College. She is currently working and training as an artist in Toronto and is the Director of Accessibility at The Disability Collective.

Ali’s recent credits include: Ali in Mamma Mia (Tweed&Co), Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables (The LOT), Little Sally in Urinetown (We Are Here Productions), Sophie in Three Pines (Prime Video) and Lead Vocalist in SEE (Apple TV).
